Earth Hour 2009 is March 28

Going dark to shed light on global warming

I'm asking you to participate in Earth Hour 2009 by turning off your lights from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28.

The purpose of Earth Hour is to get at least 1 billion households, businesses and landmarks worldwide to turn out their lights for that one hour. Every location that is dark will signify a vote for the earth and a demand that policymakers develop a new strategy for dealing with the effects of global warming. The state Capitol in Harrisburg also will dim its dome for the hour.

As of now, more than 2,400 cities, towns and municipalities around the world have promised to participate in Earth Hour 2009. I ask that you also let your light switch be a vote for clean energy.
