SEASONAL EDUCATOR/Kindergarten Program  
PART-TIME POSITION 
 
General Information:  For over two decades, Audubon Society of Western
Pennsylvania has 
coordinated  environmental education programming and hands-on outdoor
learning experiences for  Fox 
Chapel Area School Distric elementary students.   The kindergarten program
encourages students to 
explore the  natural history of the changing seasons during fall, winter,
and spring nature walks on their 
school grounds.   
 
Position Start Date: September 2009.  Position runs through the month of
October. Expected fall 
hours not to exceed 50 hours.  Possibility of position continuing in winter
and spring sessions.   
 
 
Position Responsibilities: Coordinate all aspects of the kindergarten
program including: 
1.  Schedule, coordinate, and conduct program walks with each of
approximately 17 classroom 
teachers, and one volunteer leader. Each program is 1.5 hours in duration.
Programs must be 
completed during October.  
2.  Tend to administrative record-keeping, and evaluations.  
3.  Manage all program materials.  
 
 
Education and Experience:    
1.  College degree, or currently enrolled in a degree program 
2.  Experience working with children in an educational setting 
3.  Excellent communication skills 
4.  Positive, enthusiastic and outgoing demeanor 
5.  Knowledge of and interest in the environment is preferred 
6.  Must have own transportation 
 
Additional Requirement:  Act 33/34 background checks as required by the
Department of 
Education.
