[PAEE] Upcoming Free Alternative Energy Workshops

Join the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and its partners (PPL Corporation, Penn State University and McKeever Environmental Learning Center) for a free Introductory Alternative and Renewable Energy Educator's Workshop to be held on the following dates and locations:  

	*	May 15, 2007		Holtwood Environmental Center, 9 New Village Road, Holtwood (in partnership with PPL Corporation)

	*	June 8, 2007		Applied Science Building, Penn State University, University Park (in partnership with Penn State's Applied Research Laboratory and Center for Sustainability)

	*	June 14 - 15, 2007	McKeever Environmental Learning Center, 55 McKeever Lane, Sandy Lake (in partnership with McKeever Environmental Learning Center).  This workshop includes an optional evening session on June 14th from 5:30 - 9:00 p.m. (dinner and refreshments included).  Teachers are eligible for an additional 2.5 Act 48 hours if participating in this optional evening session.

	*	June 21, 2007              DEP's Southeast Regional Office, 2 East Main Street, Norristown

The workshops will be held from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (lunch and refreshments included).  Teachers will be eligible for 7.0 Act 48 credit hours.  Workshop participants will learn about and explore alternative and renewable energy technologies through presentations, hands-on activities and a field trip to see alternative energy technology in action.  This workshop is geared for upper elementary, middle and high school teachers and non-formal educators and is based upon Pennsylvania's Academic Standards for Environment and Ecology and Science and Technology.
