Mushroom Identification Walk
Sunday, Oct. 1
1-3 p.m.
Back by popular demand, Bill Russell will lead a second mushroom
identification walk this fall.
Bill Russell has been leading mushroom workshops and walks for over
40 years. He is the author of "Field Guide to the Wild Mushrooms of
Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic," which was scheduled to be on the
bookshelves this summer.
On this mushroom walk, we will have a brief introduction to mushroom
hunting. Then we will take to the woods and learn about the wild
mushrooms that we find. We will discuss their identifying features,
edibility and personalities.
Bring a notebook, comfortable walking shoes and any mushroom books
that you use. Cost is $10 for non-members and $8 for members. Call
814-863-2000 to sign up.
