[dvs] Salvaged wood

I see lots of abandoned houses being taken out by the city, in the 
process there are huge quantities of perfectly usable planks and beams 
from house frames, floors, etc. Does anyone know how to get any of that 
stuff? I could use a bunch for some garden projects, and I suspect its 
all getting landfilled or incinerated, neither of which are very good uses.
