I have the ability to work out of my house when not going to the office or
to a client's facility, and this week we are opening an office 1.5 miles
from my house, so I can walk or ride a bike if needed.

I'll make the pledge as well.

Delaware Valley Sustainability (dvs at actionpa.org)

We started with 22, and we're now up to 33 DVS subscribers who have pledged
not to drive at least one day per week.  A 50% improvement in just a few
days.  Wow.  Many of you city-dwellers will find this easy.  Good.  Why,
then are you not all signing up?

As for the rest of us suburban types, will we make the sacrifice?   
Today my car sat all day.  It just sat.  And as things stand now, it will
sit all day tomorrow, too.  A good week for me.  I'll put the extra day in
the "bank" for when I can't be quite so local.

I recognize that folks like Mary cannot make the pledge; I'm the first to
acknowledge this notion is not for everyone.  We all must do what we must.
Thanks, Mary, for that reminder.  Like Judy, I'm finding the need (and
desire) to slow down, walk to places, do more on the phone, etc.  My two
favorites toys are my bicycle and my laptop.  Though the laptop is, of
course, an energy user, it's also an energy saver.  The big thing Joyce and
I are doing is wearing sweaters.  We keep the house pretty cold, even while
we're here.

Everybody change a habit or two, please.  We're running out of time.   
Consider the pledge.
